Shaftesbury (pop: 8,000) is an ancient hilltop market town in North Dorset. It is Britain’s second highest town and one of Dorset’s top tourist destinations. It is also famous as the iconic home of Gold Hill (of Hovis TV advert fame). Shaftesbury Town Council is responsible for delivering a number of services to local people in association with North Dorset District Council, the Dorset County Council and a number of voluntary organisations.

Lauren Todd

Shaftesbury East Councillor

I have lived in Shaftesbury all my life and feel very passionate about the town. I helped start the Fields not Houses Cam-paign regarding future development in Shaftesbury. I am a mother of two and being aware of the current lack of facilities available to the young I would like the town to be sustainable for them and for future.
